Three parts, one hundred marks each, one morning in February. We coach the paper the way it is actually built — pattern reasoning against the clock, ethics judged for consistency, and one passage turned into a map of links.
TPAT1 is the medical aptitude paper set by กสพท, the consortium of Thai medical faculties. It runs three parts of one hundred marks each: aptitude reasoning, medical ethics, and linked thinking. The score carries thirty percent of a กสพท application, and the seven TCAS A-Level papers carry the other seventy.
The paper rewards timed repetition with someone watching how you spend the minutes, so the format matters less than the discipline it allows.

The กสพท year has a shape. Starting in the wrong month means spending the crowded weeks on the wrong paper.
The cheapest marks in TPAT1 come from reading speed and arithmetic that no longer needs paper. Both take months and neither can be bought back in January.

Focus Areas:
School term two opens on 1 November and the exam season opens with it. This is the stretch where full timed parts start, one part per session, marked the same day.
Subjects:
Focus Areas:
O-NET for ม.6 falls on 10–13 January, TGAT and TPAT2–5 on 30 January to 1 February, and TCAS A-Level registration closes on 20 January. TPAT1 preparation has to survive that month without being eaten by it.
Subjects:
Focus Areas:
Once TGAT and TPAT2–5 are done on 1 February, TPAT1 finally gets a clear run. Twelve days, no other paper in the way, and the last clear chance to fix pacing, which moves faster than knowledge does.
Subjects:
Focus Areas:
A candidate who has already sat the paper knows the format and usually lost the marks somewhere specific. The work starts from last year's score breakdown, and the syllabus comes second.

Three parts, and the arithmetic that decides what those three parts are worth.
กสพท publishes its own regulations for each cycle. We read the current announcement with the family at the first session, every cycle.
One hundred marks of pattern reasoning: series, spatial relations and school-level mathematics moved at speed. Of the three parts this is where the published national averages sit lowest, and where a candidate who can do the mathematics still loses marks to the clock.
One hundred marks of judgement about conduct, answered at roughly a minute an item. Candidates tend to score most comfortably here, which is exactly why marks dropped in this part are so expensive: everyone else is collecting them.
One hundred marks that all hang on a single passage. The answers are a map of how the statements in that passage connect, so one misreading early on travels into every item that follows.
TPAT1 is thirty percent of a กสพท application. The seven TCAS A-Level papers are the other seventy, split into five weighted groups, and each of those groups carries a floor that a high TPAT1 score cannot lift.
กสพท is one route among several, and the four faculty groups behind it do not all look the same from the inside.
Thai-curriculum candidates sitting TPAT1 in February and entering through round three of TCAS in May. The largest group, and the one under the tightest calendar.
Recommended:
Families who want the groundwork done before the crowded year begins. Reading speed, mental arithmetic and the ethics reading habit all reward a long run-up.
Recommended:
Anyone sitting the paper a second time, with a score report from the last attempt and a specific part that let them down.
Recommended:
Faculties also admit outside กสพท, and international programmes run their own selection entirely. Parents often want to understand the trade before committing a year to this paper.
Recommended:
There is no score to report yet on a paper nobody has sat, so what arrives after a session is a record of how the minutes were spent and what changed.
Which part was worked, how many items were attempted inside the time, and where the clock ran out.
Mistakes filed under the kind of reasoning that failed, so a pattern becomes visible after three sessions.
Items attempted per part against the time budget, which is usually what moves first when a candidate improves.
What will be worked next and what to bring, so the week between sessions has an assignment attached to it.
Five patterns we watch for, drawn from how the paper is built and how the exam calendar falls.
Why it happens
It is the paper everyone talks about, so it absorbs the attention. It carries thirty percent. The seven TCAS A-Level papers carry seventy, and each of them has a floor at thirty percent of its full marks that a strong aptitude score cannot lift.
How we fix it
We do the arithmetic on paper in the first session and set the weekly plan against it, so the seventy percent never goes quiet while the thirty percent is being polished.
Why it happens
Fifty-five items in sixty minutes, and the part rewards consistency across the whole set, and a good instinct on one scenario earns very little. Candidates usually score their highest here, which means a mark dropped in this part costs more than the same mark elsewhere.
How we fix it
We drill scenarios in sets and then compare the answers against each other, hunting for the pair that cannot both be right. That comparison is the exercise; the individual answer is not.
Why it happens
Forty-five items in seventy-five minutes is a hundred seconds each, and this is the part where published averages sit lowest. Candidates who can solve every item given a free afternoon still lose marks because nothing tells them when to abandon one.
How we fix it
A time budget first, an elimination routine second, and only then new technique. Pacing is the fastest-moving thing in this part, and it is trainable inside a few weeks.
Why it happens
All twenty items hang on the same passage. A misreading in the first pass does not cost one item, it travels through the map and takes a run of them together, which is why scores in this part swing so widely between sittings.
How we fix it
Two passes, always: shape first, links second, map drawn on paper before anything is committed. Then every link is checked back against the sentence that created it.
Why it happens
O-NET for ม.6 falls on 10–13 January, TGAT and TPAT2–5 on 30 January to 1 February, TPAT1 alone on 13 February, and TCAS A-Level on 13–15 March. Four separate weeks with four different demands, and TPAT1 is the one that quietly gets dropped.
How we fix it
We plan the month before it arrives: two protected short slots a week through January, then the twelve clear days after 1 February handed entirely to TPAT1.
Why it happens
กสพท announced around 2,304 places across the four faculty groups for this cycle, admitted through round three of TCAS. Faculties also admit outside กสพท on their own criteria, and those routes do not weigh TPAT1 the same way, if they use it at all.
How we fix it
Decide the route before the timetable. Half an hour with this cycle's announcement saves a term of preparing for a weighting that does not apply to your target faculty.
กสพท reissues its regulations every cycle and the weightings have moved before. Everything above is read against the current announcement at the first session.
A TPAT1 page is expected to close with the number of students who went on to a medical faculty. That number does not exist for Edulom: not one candidate in Thailand has been prepared for this paper by us. So what follows is the coaching itself, and every line of it is checkable from the first session onward.
We ask for the score report and the sitting year before anyone teaches, and the sitting has to be recent enough to be the paper as TGAT and TPAT now set it.
This paper punishes candidates who can solve items but cannot abandon them. Untimed practice hides that entirely, so we do not run any.
Thirty percent here, seventy on the TCAS A-Level side, with a floor under each subject. The plan is built against those numbers and reviewed against them every month.
What was worked, how the time went, what goes wrong repeatedly, and what happens next. It arrives the same day, in Thai or in English, whichever the family reads.
O-NET, the TGAT week, the TCAS A-Level registration window and 13 February are put on one sheet in the first month, so nothing is discovered late.
Say so after the first session. We would rather change the tutor in week one than have a candidate quietly stop arguing in week six.
A short list of conditions, applied before anyone is put in front of a candidate.
Online sessions run anywhere in Thailand, which matters for this paper because a candidate outside Bangkok should not have to settle for a tutor who has never sat it.
In Bangkok we match along the BTS and MRT corridor, because the journey home decides whether a weekday evening session is possible at all. Watthana, Sathon, Bang Rak, Bang Kho Laem, Huai Khwang, Bang Na, Saphan Sung and Don Mueang are all served, along with Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan and Pathum Thani.
