What happens to your money when plans change, in plain words
Last updated: September 29, 2026
Plans change. A school timetable moves, a learner moves house, an exam date comes forward, or a learner simply decides the subject is done. This page tells you, in plain numbers, what happens to the money you paid Edulom when that happens.
Every lesson is paid to Edulom in Thai baht, against a written quote you accept before anything is charged. Edulom pays the tutor for each lesson taught, so every refund below comes from us and reaches you directly.
Cancel at any point before the first lesson and we refund everything you paid for lessons, in full. You do not need to give a reason.
Some quotes include a one-time registration fee, which pays for the work of finding and matching a tutor. If you cancel before a tutor has been matched and introduced to you, that fee comes back too. Once the tutor has been introduced, the registration fee is kept and the lesson money is still refunded in full.
We send the refund within 7 business days of your request.
You can stop whenever you like. A block is priced on the understanding that it runs to the end, so when it stops early, the lessons already taught are charged at the single-session rate and the block discount falls away for that block.
Everything left over after that is yours. Every unused lesson you paid for is refunded within 7 business days of your request. If you would like to keep the value for later, for a new subject or the next term, say so and we hold it as credit on your account. Paid lessons and credit do not expire.
A block can also be paused for up to 30 days, which suits the April and October breaks. A paused block is waiting for the learner when lessons resume, with every session kept.
Tell us at least 24 hours before a lesson starts and it moves or cancels at no cost. The session goes back into your block, ready to be booked again.
Inside 24 hours, tell us anyway. We will try to move the lesson with your tutor, and most of the time that works. If it cannot be moved, the lesson counts as taught, because the tutor has kept the slot and is often already on the way across Bangkok. The same applies when a learner does not attend and sends no word: the tutor waits 15 minutes, and after that the lesson counts as taught.
If a tutor cancels or misses a lesson, we move it at no cost and it never counts against the learner.
You can ask for a different tutor at any time, free of charge, for any reason. Tell us what did not work, and we match again. Replacing a tutor is part of the service and is never billed.
If we cannot give you a tutor you are happy with within 14 days, we refund every unused lesson and the registration fee, in full, within 7 business days. That cost is carried by Edulom.
Write to circle@edulom.com from the email address on the booking. Include the learner’s name, the invoice number, and which lessons you want refunded. You can write in English or in Thai.
We confirm within 1 business day and tell you the exact amount before we send anything, so you know the figure in advance.
We issue an approved refund within 7 business days of your request. It goes back to the same card or wallet you paid with; card networks require that, and it is the quickest route home for your money.
Once it leaves us, your bank usually shows it within 5 to 10 business days. If you ask for credit on your Edulom account, the amount is there the same day we confirm it.
We never deduct a processing fee or a refund fee from what comes back to you. If your card is billed in a currency other than baht, your bank’s own exchange rate on the day may move the final figure slightly.
Four things, stated plainly: lessons already taught; a lesson that counts as taught under the 24-hour rule above; the registration fee once a tutor has been matched, when you are the one who cancels; and the block discount on a block you stop early. Everything else you paid for and did not use comes back to you.
Pay Edulom only, through the channels shown on your quote. A tutor never takes payment at the door, and money handed to a tutor directly sits outside this policy. Please tell us if a tutor ever asks for it.
This policy adds to your rights under Thai consumer protection law, and those rights always apply. If you paid by card, your right to raise a dispute with your card issuer stays with you.
The terms of service and the code of conduct use the same numbers as this page. If you are ever unsure how a rule applies to your lessons, write to us before you decide, and we will work it through with you.
Our team reads every message, every day of the week, and replies in writing in English or Thai.
